Researchers engaged in the 3rd Scientific Expedition to the Terra do Meio – Serra do Pardo National Park do not yet have a final figure for the number of species they found but do have an estimate and have identified some of the species to be found in that protected area. Up to the moment the numbers are 26 mammal species, 265 bird species, 57 reptiles and amphibian species, around 500 plant species and 71 species of fish.
Mammals: 26 (up until now)

- Labba (Agouti paca)
- Tapir
- Capybara
- Howler Monkey
- Jaguar
- Giant Otter
- Red-rumped Agouti
- Spider Monkey
- Black-fronted Titi Monkey
- Collared Peccary
- White-lipped Peccary
- Greater Long-nosed Armadillo
- 7-banded Armadillo
- Raccoon
- Puma
- Squirrel
- Capuchin Monkey

Birds: 265 species (up until now) - Entre elas:
- Ochre-cheeked Spinetail (Synallaxis scutata)
- Pale-bellied Tyrant (Neopelma pallescens)
- Peach-fronted Parakeet (Aratinga aurea)
- Rufous-winged Ant Shrike (Thamnophilus torquatus)
- Pearly-vented Tody-tyrant (Hemitriccus margaritaceiventer)
- Black Manakin (Xenopipo atronitens)
- Red-shouldered Tanager (Tachyphonus phoenicius)
- Black-necked Red Cotinga (Phoenicircus nigricollis), a member of the Cotingidae family and quite rare throughout its area of distribution.
- Red-necked Aracari (Pteroglossus bitorquatus), a species registered on the Brazilian endangered species list.
- Ornate Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus ornatus), a large bodied species occupying the top end of the trophic chain and an indicator of the good quality of the environment (intact forests).
Reptiles and Amphibians: 29 amphibian species, 10 lizard species, 14 snake species, 2 turtle species and 2 species of crocodiles (up to the moment) among them:
- Spectacled Caiman (Caiman crocodilus)
- Smooth-fronted Caiman (Paleosuchus trigonatus)
- Yellow-spotted Amazon River Turtle (Podocnemis unifilis)
- Yellow-footed Tortoise (Chelonoidis denticulata)
- Aquatic Coral Snake (Micrurus surinamensis)
- Brown Vine Snake (Oxybelis aeneus)
- Whip snake (Chironius sp.)
- Amazon Tree Boa (Corallus hortulanus)
- The world’s smallest lizard, Coleodactylus amazonicus
- Para Thin-toed Frog (Leptodactylus paraensis)
- Cayenne Slender-legged Tree Frog (Osteocephalus leprieurii)
- South American Common Toad (Rhinella gr. Margaritifera)
Flora: around 500 species (up to the moment) among them:
- Pará Euterpe Palm (Euterpe longebracteata)
- Copaiba (Copaifera duckei Dwyer)
- Yellow Mombin (Spondias mombim L.)
- Assai Palm (Euterpe oleracea Mart.)
- Canela-de-ema (Brazilian common name) (Vellozia sp.)
- Mandacaru (Brazilian common name) cactus (Cereus sp.)
4 species that are on red lists of species threatened with extinction (Brazilian national lists and/or Para State list), namely:
- Massaranduba (Manilkara huberi)
- Itauba (Mezilaurus itauba)
- Cedar (Cedrela odorata L.)
- Brazil Nut Tree (Bertholletia excelsa HBK)
Fish: 71 species (up to the moment) among them:
- tetra (astyanax)
- tambuatá (Callichthys callichthys)
- mussum (synbranchus)
- catfish (platydoras)
