About Us

We are a Brazilian non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to change the current path of environmental degradation and promote a fairer and healthier future for all, where society and nature live in harmony.

To achieve this goal, we believe in dialogue and collaboration with different sectors of society: traditional communities, local organizations, companies, and government. Above all, we seek to strengthen the role of populations and initiatives that are on the frontlines of protecting Brazilian biomes.

Created in 1996, WWF-Brazil is part of the WWF Network and currently has over 180 employees engaged in more than 60 projects in the Amazon, Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Pantanal, and marine ecosystems along the Brazilian coast.

Our initiatives aim to protect and restore biodiversity, strengthen family farming and local production, and generate studies on the impacts of deforestation and fires,

OUR VALUES

Without unity, respect, and the celebration of the diversity of nature and people, it is impossible to fulfill our mission. That’s why, through the many cultures, partners, and communities we work with and that represent WWF, we have developed and are guided by a shared set of core values:

We work for change where it is needed and inspire people and institutions to confront the greatest threats to nature and to the planet’s future—our shared home. Courage is present in everything we do.

We live by the principles we believe in, acting with integrity, accountability, and transparency. We rely on science to guide us and ensure that we learn and evolve.

We honor the voices and knowledge of the people and communities we partner with and serve, working to uphold their rights to a sustainable future.

We create impact through the power of collective and innovative action.
